At The Brown Place Group Home, our mission is to provide children ages 5 to 18 with a nurturing, family-centered environment where they can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Rooted in biblical principles, we are committed to offering a foundation of love, faith, stability, and security—supporting each child’s spiritual, emotional, physical, and educational development. We exist to reduce the number of children entering the foster care system or experiencing homelessness by creating a forever family where every child feels safe, supported, and truly at home. Basic Needs
We ensure every child receives consistent access to nutritious meals and snacks each day, clean clothing and appropriate seasonal attire, safe and comfortable bedding, as well as personal hygiene products. In partnership with local providers, we also provide necessary medical and dental care. Above all, we are committed to offering a clean, structured, and loving home environment where every child can feel safe and supported.
Education & Training
We are dedicated to the academic, spiritual, and life preparedness of every child. Our education and training services are designed to support well-rounded development and include a range of enriching experiences. We provide daily homework support and academic tutoring, along with individualized learning plans developed in partnership with local schools. Faith-based classes help children learn biblical values, build character, and make moral decisions. We introduce entrepreneurship through fun, age-appropriate lessons that inspire creativity, leadership, and financial responsibility. Gardening and environmental stewardship teach patience, responsibility, and hands-on science, while visionary classes encourage children to dream big, set goals, and discover their purpose through faith. Life skills development is also a key focus, including lessons in hygiene, budgeting, cooking, communication, and conflict resolution. Additionally, we offer workshops that promote confidence, self-worth, and emotional regulation, and provide access to learning tools and technology to help bridge educational gaps.
Case Management
Every child receives personalized support through a comprehensive and compassionate approach. This includes individual assessments and tailored service planning to address each child’s unique needs. Regular progress monitoring and goal-setting ensure continuous growth and development. We coordinate closely with schools, healthcare providers, and family members to create a strong support network. Additionally, we provide advocacy and referrals to community resources, along with trauma-informed care and emotional support to help children feel safe, understood, and empowered.
Transportation
We ensure children have safe, reliable transportation to support their overall well-being and development. This includes transportation for school attendance and educational activities, as well as medical and therapy appointments. We also provide transportation for extracurricular programs, church services, and community events. Additionally, children are supported with transportation for family visits and case-related appointments, helping maintain important connections and ensuring consistent care.
Residential Living
Our group home provides a warm, structured, and secure family-style living environment designed to support the emotional and developmental needs of each child. Gender-specific bedrooms are provided, with house parents assigned accordingly to ensure comfort and appropriate care. Daily routines help promote discipline and responsibility, while an emphasis on respecting rules, boundaries, and Christian values fosters a positive and respectful atmosphere. Children enjoy family-style meals and bonding activities that build connection and a sense of belonging. The home is staffed with trained, compassionate individuals who provide 24-hour supervision, ensuring safety, consistency, and support at all times.
Recreational & Leisure
We believe in the power of play, creativity, and community engagement as essential parts of a child’s growth and joy. Children enjoy a variety of enriching experiences, including outdoor play and physical fitness activities that promote health and well-being. They have opportunities to explore their creativity through arts, crafts, music, and spiritual expression. Group outings to museums, parks, and local events provide fun and educational experiences. We celebrate holidays and birthdays to create lasting memories and a sense of belonging. Faith-based youth programs and devotionals nurture their spiritual growth, while volunteer projects and outreach activities offer meaningful ways to serve others and connect with the community.
